I'm gonna scare away my female clientele!

So my lovely girlfriend said that if I keep doing all of this pseudo-demonic, manly-man, boy tattoo designs... I'll scare away all of my potential female clientele. And it's a fact that women get tattooed more-so than men these days. So to all the ladies out there who would like to see me create more dainty, feminine designs... I got y'all next round. In the mean time... here's a fucking Reaper.

Stress-free Flash Sessions

I just went at this sheet and had fun. I've been working on large scale pieces lately, so not much to show on the jammy jam tip. Just trying to get my art and convention preparation together. Hopefully I can update with some fire this week!

Today's Fun Stuff...

So my friend Carla came through for a fun Gypsy on her inner arm. And I finally got around to finishing some new (more serious) flash.

Hannya's are fun. Straight up.

Had fun jamming on this one. He's gonna eventually tie in more Japanese stuff. The three-eyed Tiger and lotus is on this arm as well, high up. This was a blast.


I also finished up a quick sheet of flash. I like doing these pseudo-traditional flames on stuff... so I said fuck it, and made a whole page with it implemented somehow. I had a nifty time with it.

The day isn't over YET!

Let's squeeze one more in! Late Night - More drawing. Finished this guy. My take on those old traditional devils, brah. Tried to make as non-greaser as possible. Had fun with it.

Back Aches - Still Productive

So my back ached so bad I just couldn't go through with the day today. I needed to catch some much needed rest. I work 6 days a week at nine to twelve hours a piece. That's 60 hours a week hunched over doodling on someone's body. It takes a toll on you, and today I had enough. But even at home trying to relax, I still wind up having to make something. Here's today's endeavor. Hurray for drawing on the floor!

It's an Eaglepanthersharktigerpython. Oh and by the way, those are supposed to be piss finger waves. Yes, piss as in urine.

Slow Day, Confrontation, Fun Art

What a day today has been! A new shop opened up directly across the street from us today... inside a hair salon, on the same level... hell, a few feet away from a barber chair. The scratchers that work there came into our shop not to long ago SMOKING A CIGARRETTE IN OUR LOBBY! Needless to say, I was bored and ventured to their new establishment... after I spoke my mind, we were told to leave. And we did. But the message was sent loud and clear - We are legitimate tattooers doing rock solid work, and we won't stand for this industry to be screwed and exploited by hackjobs such as them. I can't stand and watch food get taken off of my girlfriend and forthcoming child's table because these guys are 100 feet from us giving people Hepatitis.

New tattoo and a sneakpeek at the new flash

I'm pretty excited...

I scored some sweet frames and some art supplies for my next few illustrations. I've also been focusing on getting back into making flash. I'm going to make on a 3 page American Traditional set and a 3 page black and grey set. I find it to be the best way to fill up the downtime.

I have a new painting to upload but it's at the shop, and I'm off today... guess it'll have to wait till tomorrow. Bummer.

On a more personal note, me and my girlfriend are going apartment hunting today. We've had a lot of shitty encounters with shady landlords. One kept urging us to put a lean on my girlfriend's car as security because my career as a tattoo artist isn't "reliable income". Scam. Not to mention, 9 out of 10 apartment ads on craigslist are identity theft scams. We said fuck it, and we're going the tried and true route and hunting for them ourselves. Pen and paper in hand.

Promoting the New Sketchbook & More...

So we worked with Rich T. over at Bicknee Tattoo Supply on putting out a sketchbook. And the fabulous end result was Pink Taco, Volume 1! It's a 30 page compilation of Ryan Adams and myself's work. It's available over at Bicknee.com.
