Smile for the camera! Octo-Geisha?

The homie Sean Flaharty filmed me hooking his friend Tracy up with his first tattoo. He went with a big pseudo-biomech piece, which is a little outside of my norm... but it gave me a chance to have some fun with a style that normally doesn't fall in my lap to often. I had a good time with it. I also managed to get a couple paintings done. Till next time!

I'm back, let's get crackin!

So... Erie, PA was awesome! I worked nonstop and had a great time. Much love to the Ink Assassins crew for having me there and showing me an awesome time. I've been back for almost a week now and I've had the opportunity to work on some pretty fun tattoos. Here are a couple from the past week.

I've been drawing...

The first of my week long drawing frenzy! These are pieces that I would really like to tattoo, ergo they will be offered at a good price. The pieces are located in the "Designs For Sale" section. Get at me if you want one! - http://www.myspace.com/davethedisaster -

I'm gonna scare away my female clientele!

So my lovely girlfriend said that if I keep doing all of this pseudo-demonic, manly-man, boy tattoo designs... I'll scare away all of my potential female clientele. And it's a fact that women get tattooed more-so than men these days. So to all the ladies out there who would like to see me create more dainty, feminine designs... I got y'all next round. In the mean time... here's a fucking Reaper.

Back Aches - Still Productive

So my back ached so bad I just couldn't go through with the day today. I needed to catch some much needed rest. I work 6 days a week at nine to twelve hours a piece. That's 60 hours a week hunched over doodling on someone's body. It takes a toll on you, and today I had enough. But even at home trying to relax, I still wind up having to make something. Here's today's endeavor. Hurray for drawing on the floor!

It's an Eaglepanthersharktigerpython. Oh and by the way, those are supposed to be piss finger waves. Yes, piss as in urine.

New Tattoos, Excited!

I got to finally finish the two-headed pegasus that I started on a while back. And once again, another fun jammer on my friend Jeff Money. Two very fun tattoos. Did I mention these were fun?

Slow Day, Confrontation, Fun Art

What a day today has been! A new shop opened up directly across the street from us today... inside a hair salon, on the same level... hell, a few feet away from a barber chair. The scratchers that work there came into our shop not to long ago SMOKING A CIGARRETTE IN OUR LOBBY! Needless to say, I was bored and ventured to their new establishment... after I spoke my mind, we were told to leave. And we did. But the message was sent loud and clear - We are legitimate tattooers doing rock solid work, and we won't stand for this industry to be screwed and exploited by hackjobs such as them. I can't stand and watch food get taken off of my girlfriend and forthcoming child's table because these guys are 100 feet from us giving people Hepatitis.

On another note... I did this post-angry encounter:

Cards are in!

So my business cards came in... THEY'RE SO TINY! I dig them though. They're straight and to the point. I only made a small run of these. With these particular cards, people have been asking me, "Why don't you have a phone number on there?" and the answer is simple. A.) I plan on doing some tattoo travelling, and it's easier to just email me for an appointment rather than call. And B.) I do not want to tattoo clients that can't use an email account. It's 2010, give me a break.

I've been working on a lot of sleeves lately and it's been hard to get fresh photos of individual jammers. A client came in today with a graphic off of an Affliction shirt. I (being the conscionable tattooer that I am) suggested he didn't want a t-shirt design tattooed on him and suggested my take on the design. Here's what we came up with on the inner arm.

3-eyed Tigers!

There's nothing more to say other than that they're fun as hell to tattoo! I also got a present in the mail from Workhorse Irons. I thought Soba just redid the springs, tuned it some, and maybe heat-shrinked the capacitor on my machine, but I was wrong. He swapped out everything but the frame! I was SO excited... and I got to use it on this tattoo. Thanks Soba!

Suicide King, Post Hell City

Had Soba from Workhorse Irons, and Chris Quidgeon retune a few machines for me this past weekend at Hell City and roamed around to see all the good artists laying it down. Needless to say I started Sunday off with a nice inspirational feel to the day. I got to do this cool little suicide-king on my friend Jeff. I have some pretty cool stuff booked up for the week. I'll be sure to update when I can. Holler!
